Precision Tile Installation in Metairie & New Orleans
Tile can define an entire room, but the finished surface is only as good as the planning and preparation beneath it. EC Construction provides tile installation in Metairie, New Orleans, and surrounding communities for homeowners who value careful layout, clean edges, and an installation method suited to the material and space.

Our family-owned company has served Greater New Orleans since 2009. We install tile in showers, complete bathrooms, tub surrounds, kitchen backsplashes, floors, and other interior remodeling areas. Each written estimate identifies the work being considered, material responsibilities, and the preparation included for that specific project.
Tile Installation for Different Rooms and Materials
EC Construction works with ceramic, porcelain, marble, natural stone, travertine, glass tile, mosaics, large-format tile, and XL porcelain materials. These products do not all install the same way. Tile dimensions, thickness, pattern, edge condition, substrate, and room layout influence the required preparation and installation approach.
The scope may include tile removal, surface protection, substrate preparation, self-leveling, uncoupling membrane, waterproofing, layout, setting materials, grout, silicone, Schluter metal profiles, borders, and transitions. The exact work depends on the existing conditions and selected finish.
For shower-specific planning, visit our Custom Showers in Greater New Orleans page. If tile is one part of a larger bathroom renovation, see Bathroom Remodeling in Metairie.
Preparation Before the First Tile Is Set
A straight grout line cannot compensate for an unsuitable surface. EC Construction evaluates the substrate and plans for flatness, necessary leveling, control lines, movement accommodation, waterproofing, slope where required, and changes between materials.
Depending on the project, preparation can include Schluter Ditra uncoupling membrane, Schluter Kerdi waterproofing components, mud-bed work, self-leveling materials, and appropriate setting products. These elements are not added automatically to every project. They are selected according to the room, tile, existing surface, and written scope.
Careful preparation is especially important with mosaics, long plank-style tile, natural materials, and large-format pieces. Each can reveal layout or surface problems differently, so the installation plan must respond to the material instead of treating every tile job alike.
Layout and Finish Details
Before setting begins, we consider focal points, pattern direction, grout-joint alignment, cuts at walls and openings, outside edges, borders, and transitions into nearby floors. In showers, niches, benches, drains, curbs, and changes in plane also affect the layout.

Tile Installation FAQ
Can EC Construction install tile that I select or supply?
Yes. Homeowners may select or supply certain finish materials. The written estimate identifies who provides the tile and which preparation, setting, grout, waterproofing, or trim products are included for the specific scope.
Do you install large-format tile and XL porcelain?
Yes. Large-format tile and XL porcelain are among EC Construction’s services. Handling, layout, cuts, substrate condition, edge treatment, and the characteristics of the selected material are reviewed for the individual project.
Can you tile only one part of a room?
Yes. A project may focus on a backsplash, floor, tub surround, shower, or another defined area. Send photographs, dimensions, material information, and the project location so we can understand what you want completed.
